Millennium city, Gurgaon, hosted the Global Energy Race on Sunday, 23 September 2018. The race was conducted in 23 countries on the same day — making it a unique event. Thousands of runners across the globe participated in the 4th edition of the race.
Globally, Group Bimbo (the largest bakery company) organizes the race — they partnered with Harvest Gold in India. The race was recorded in Guinness book of world records in 2016 for most 10km races held simultaneously (worldwide) on the same day.
In Gurgaon, people from different age groups, cities, countries and ethnicity participated to run, jog or pleasure walk.
Beyond racing the sponsors also worked for a cause — for every kilometer completed by participants, 2 slices of bread donated to a food bank to support the local community. Indian organizers partnered with Uday Foundation in India.
Coach Ravinder spearheads and facilitates such runs in NCR. “I’m excited to see the enthusiasm of the runners from all age groups and ethnicity. These runners inspire me to keep organizing such runs.”
Way to go G-city!
